While many field users still use a laptop or Tablet PC, most SmartPest subscribers opt for the popular iPhone, iPad or iPad Mini. With these easy-to-use devices, administrators have the option of restricting technicians and sales staff to seeing only those calls assigned to them on a particular day. Mobile owners and managers, however, can also use an iOS device to access to the entire SmartPest program including the ability to edit schedules, assign calls, create new customers or search a client’s history. iPhone allows managers to access the entire database however, due to screen size, most will probably choose to do so from an iPad or iPad Mini. Where available, 4G wireless connections are recommended for all field users.
SmartPest Mobile gives field technicians the ability to operate in a paperless environment. SmartPest Mobile runs on the popular Apple iPhone and iPod touch. The way it works is this. Office workers create orders in the normal manner then synchronize assignments wirelessly to field technicians. Techs then view their appointments and complete service tickets on their hand held device. They can clock in and out, select target pests and treatment locations then document chemicals used.They can also report on up to 70 bait stations on each service ticket. Once completed, Apple’s touch technology allows the customer to sign the ticket using the tip of a finger. Completed tickets are synchronized to the office with the click of a button.
